Learn More About Me
My name is Lorraine Mckeever
I have been a qualified counsellor for 18 years.
I have worked for a local authority providing counselling to 11 to 19 year old students in school and sixth form. I have gained an extensive training base around working with this specific age group.
I have a special interest in working with Neurodivergent adolescents and adults. I have both personal and professional experience and maintain current training and CPD (continuous professional development) to enhance my knowledge to offer you a flexible approach. My counselling space is sensory friendly.
I am a registered member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their ethical framework. I also have regular supervision, ensuring I work ethically.

Counselling gives you time to be heard and understood in a non-judgmental and safe space, exploring difficult feelings along the way. I am there to support you and respect your views. I will help you on your own journey into understanding your problems and therefore gaining more insight. This is at a pace you are comfortable with.

Whatever you’re struggling with, I’m here to help you achieve your goals. Contact me to find out more.
Counselling
Life throws many surprises at us, and whilst we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, sometimes it is difficult to see a way forward.
Maybe you are feeling a bit 'stuck' or would like to explore significant events happening now, or in the past, which you have difficulty coming to terms with.
Counselling can help with positive events, such as choosing a new direction in life or reaching your potential. It can also help you cope by providing a space to be heard, maybe for the first time, in a way which values and respects, without any fear of judgement.
I don't have a magic wand or a crystal ball, but can offer to walk alongside you, listening, valuing and respecting you on your journey.
One to one sessions enable you to explore any concerns in a safe and confidential space.

Supervision

I work as an Integrative supervisor, as this ensures I can be flexible to your level of training and need. Supervision is tailored to your specific need and development and is always offered within a safe, warm and nurturing environment. This enables the supervisee to feel confident to grow, learn and to be transparent.
I establish this safety through using a person-centered approach to supervision. The creation of a safe environment is an extremely important aspect of supervision, and it allows the supervisees to grow through learning about themselves and themselves as professional counsellors, leaving them feeling free to disclose areas of difficulty and/or dilemmas within their clinical practice.
I know how important a good, empathetic supervisor can be and this is my aim.
